My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Whomever it may concern.
I am a wildlife management student at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. I have already completed a BSc degree in Ecology and am now undertaking my second degree.
I can tell you how passionate I am about photography, or how much I love being outdoors, but the truth is, I am going to become a photographer with or without your help.
To be completely honest, the thought of becoming a travel photographer has never before occurred to me. My mind has always been fixed on becoming a wildlife photographer, more specifically, one that contributes to the National Geographic magazine on a regular basis. Photographers such as Michael "Nick" Nichols and Joel Sartore have always inspired me, not just because they make memorable photographs, but also because of the way in which they use their photographs to affect change. If I could have a career similar to theirs my life would be complete. If you believe that giving me the opportunity to gain experience in Greenland under the watchful eye of Jason Edwards will be a step in the right direction towards reaching my goals then please do so. If not, I thank you for reading this.
Regards
Johannes D. Welman
