I just stumbled across this opportunity through Facebook. I'm not in any way a professional photographer, but I do enjoy capturing an image of nature. The Peruvian Amazon is a place filled with wonder and awe that I've wanted to visit ever since I became aware of the dangers that it faces with illegal logging, oil drilling and the forced removal of indigenous tribes. If I had more income, and a better chance in life, I would probably dedicate my time to photographing and documenting these issues for the world to see. I am a dreamer though, these things are not likely to happen for someone who belongs in my generation. We are poor, and opportunities are few. To go to the Peruvian Amazon to take photographs is something that isn't going to happen without a lot of money, careful planning and a timeframe to work in. I'd thought I'd enter on the off-chance.
