My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Australia | Thursday, July 4, 2013 | 4 photos
Hi,
I’m Jim Dodd. I am a very keen, passionate amateur photographer/photo journalist. I’m Australian, 46, married, no kids living in Nelson Bay, NSW, Australia.
My passions are scuba diving, rugby union, nature and photography. I love photography because there are no language barriers.
The want to take photos that change the world drives me to take better shots. Change the way we see, treat and interact with nature. The want to be better than everyone else, be the best. Better photos create more awareness and admiration. They touch the heart and inspire change.
I would like my images to make an impact around the world and inspire others to protect our fragile environment. I want to share my knowledge and be a role model.
I want my photos to tell the story that we are destroying our planet and MUST act now to protect it. I want to show what we have left and why it’s worth saving.
This trip will teach me how to go from taking a photo of a nice scene to taking awe inspiring photos that tell stories which make people want to change the way they act, think, view and respond to nature. I want to learn from one of the best.
