3. The Belfry and the Girl with a Yellow Shirt. The old belfry of the Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church in Jaro in Iloilo City is one of the most famous landmarks in Iloilo. Though several earthquakes have damaged the belfry it was repaired by devotees of the church, proving that trough a united faith as Christians, problems can be resolved. This picture was taken after a heavy afternoon rain.

2. The Fishermen’s Life. Fishing is one of the most popular sources of living among Filipinos who lives along the coastline. Every day, the fishermen wakes up before dawn and prepare their fishing gears. They ignore the cold temperature because they need to, they almost don’t have a choice. In taking the picture, I bent down so that the net filled the frame and the fishermen were put inside it. My primary objective was to take a picture that was compost not in a unique way. But, the picture exhibits a lot of symbolism. The net surrounds the fishermen which symbolizes that their lives depends so much on fishing. The holes and stitches in the net symbolizes that it endured a lot of work already. The picture symbolizes that in unity there is strength. That symbolism are exhibited through the net (threads that were bounded together) and the group of fishermen working together to get a bountiful catch. This picture was taken on a Saturday morning in Tigbauan in Iloilo.

4. Two Icons (Jaro Belfry and San Pedro Calungsod). The old belfry of the Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church in Jaro in Iloilo City is an iconic symbol of Catholicism in Iloilo. It stood high enough to be seen by everyone who passes in the area. In this picture, it serves as background for the arrival to Iloilo of the image of San Pedro Calungsod, the second Filipino saint. The picture also shows the faithful uniting to welcome the saint. The setting sun highlighted both icons.
