My Scholarship entry - Story of a city. My city.

I’m Hernan, a 24 years old student. This year I’ll be getting my bachelor degree in Economics. I’m an amateur photographer. Of course I’m not the best, I’m learning, but I can assure that I’m as passionate as a professional. I love everything that has to do with photography, from reading blogs and books, to going out to put into practice what I have learnt, knowing new places and people, and getting to know their stories. Stop, see, breathe deeply and take a shot. It makes me enjoy even more the places I visit, paying attention to detail and live with all my being that moment.

Lately, because of my studies, I didn’t have much time to travel. So now I finish the uni, I strongly think “THIS is the moment”, and here is where this scholarship takes part. I really want to develop my photographic skills.

This sequence may not have been located in a fantastic place, is just my home city. But my idea is to find beauty everywhere I go, it doesn’t matter if it’s a place I see daily. Or, in Jason Edwards’ words “I do know my goal has always been to tell a story in a single frame, to give a place, species or person context within their environment, and to do that beautifully.”
