My Scholarship entry - It`s about what you see

My name is Heather Carroll, and I`m from a small town in the middle of Ontario. This small place taught me many things, such as beauty is everywhere around you, and ever angle changes the centre focus, every details holds the same beauty as the big picture. If you don't stop, take a second and look around your missing something beautiful. I love using photography to catch the small moments. Those moments where their a exchange of beauty, a small detail that dazzles the eyes for just a second before your snapped back to reality. My camera becomes a part of my body when I travel, I can never put it down due to the chance I will miss that awe inspiring moment. I think I should be chosen for the 12-day photography assignment in the Peruvian Amazon because it would make many of my dreams come true. I would be able to see how to capture these moments I see every day from a professional with amazing skill, with such beauty and elegance I see from the National Geographic photographers. Photographer is more then a passion, it`s being able to tell a story through still images and portray the emotion behind those in the picture, or the peacefulness of the scene set before you.
