My Scholarship entry - Be Better Or Different
Currently studying in my first year of Marine and Natural History Photography in Cornwall, UK. I am determined and love challenge. I am passionate about wildlife and want to be there with my camera to capture creatures and their behaviors that no one has ever seen before. I recently went to Wildscreen Festival where amongst many amazing and inspiring photographers, Tim Laman was the key note speaker. He spoke about his Bird's of Paradise book and the 8 years overall it took to capture the images. I was moved, amazed and left knowing that this is what I am meant to do with my life, be a wildlife photographer. A phrase that has stuck with me said by Alexander Mustard, an underwater photographer that was also a speaker, "Be Better or Different"
