I'm a journalist and copywriter based in Austin, TX. I also run my own travel blog, Maiden Voyage. I absolutely adore travel, and exploring new cultures makes my world go round.

Two summers ago, I traveled to Florence, Italy and was awed by the vivid colors of the markets, elaborate street performers, endless history, and stunning art. This photo essay captures some of the more interesting characters I encountered in Florence, plus some being drawn directly on the streets.

Taking photographs is one of my favorite parts of traveling. It helps me feel more connected to the people and places I visit. It allows me to create my own art while freezing memories in time and preserving memories I don't want to let go. It liberates the creative spark in me and helps me capture a meaningful moment. I would love the opportunity to enhance my skills with such an accomplished mentor. I have always been fascinated by the remoteness and mystique of Bhutan, and it seems like the perfect place for me to explore with a camera.
