My Scholarship entry - Byte from the Big Apple

"Nemi, you hangout with everyone and never stay in y our comfort zone" said my friend to me. This stems from the fact that I always find intriguing what everyone has to say and what they are thinking and try to capture that moment/thought. As a Biology major, I feel that not just the animals and organisms but even the genes try to tell you something and which is why we call it Genetic Expression. To be able to capture those emotions and thoughts in the Amazon forest would be absolutely enthralling!
In this new age where everyone is photographer with their smartphone, Instagram and filters, I want to try and bring back the real photography and inspire people to be able to catch a moment. Being well traveled and conversant in multiple languages and cultures along with an eye for the unusual and detail sets me apart. But obviously what would take me far ahead in the end would be my work and hopefully that speaks for itself.
