    Long Haul: Karen met Bill at one of the three neighborhood bars a few years back. She moved in with him into his one bedroom first-floor apartment after they said their vows. Bill suggested the tattoos instead of rings, he said they would not wash off or get lost. She agreed but told him that if he decided to take his final breath before her, she would not forgive him for she would not be able to marry anyone but another Bill again. Views[406] Reliable Trails: Pittsburgh boasts of endless staircases that lead to the best views of the city. Polish Hill smugly claims several of these staircases that residents use daily to cut across streets while soaking the sun's last rays. I accompanied an artist and his two year old daughter on their evening walk along one such set of stairs. I lingered to find a space which captured the enigma these rusted rails and crooked steps help for the residents. As I walked the streets on a sunny, not very Pittsburgh-like day, I came across a house that I could not see. The surroundings indicated that it should be there in front of me; I peered down the wooden gate to find it resting down the hill. These houseless houses are just as common as the houses stacked on one another, come see for yourself. Views[402] Ageless Madonna: Being welcomed into a stranger's home was not on my mind when I began documenting the neighborhood. Donna's partner George found me wandering the streets and invited me over their backyard to photograph his pet fish. An invitation that I would have politely declined on any other day, I accepted and found myself entering their house from the backyard-- to discover the hidden treasure of a wise woman's life experiences over a cold beer.
