My Scholarship entry - Ambition

My name is Dylan Boychuk, I am currently enrolled at the New York Institute of Photography as an online student. I reside in Winnipeg, Canada and maintain full time employment here in the city.
Photography has become a passion of mine over the past year or so, and I would love the opportunity to fine tune my skills. I am currently involved in a portrait campaign alongside a colleague of mine that is working towards helping homeless men and women in our city remain warm in the winter. Our goal is to have them take part in our photography, then we would happily go out and buy them their choice of clothing. Winnipeg winter's require warm jackets, mitts, and suitable pants. Winter 2015 is supposed to be the coldest winter in several years, and would without a doubt reach temperatures in the -45C range as they have in years past. Obviously temperatures like these are incredibly tough to deal with, our goal is to help people escape the cold as much as we can.
I can’t think of anything greater than travelling abroad while having the opportunity to deepen my passion for photography. I know it would be an eye opening experience, one that I would cherish for the rest of my life.
