My Scholarship entry - Gems of Hoi An, Vietnam
As a film, video and print producer, I get to put together shoots for big and small companies all the time. But it's an incredibly unfulfilling job. You see, after studying abroad in 2009, I decided that traveling is the best thing in the world. And I always planned to integrate that into my career, using a creative touch to show others all the amazing people, places and things this world has to offer.
Last month I turned 26 and realized that the only thing holding me back from pursuing a career as a travel content-creator is ME! ...and my lack of skills with a camera. I already have a strong background in producing so I know how to get things done. The difference is that I want to be the one behind the camera, not the person behind the person with the camera. I want to use my experiences, adventures and advice to inspire, educate and entertain others to see the world, get outside and really live! I'm self taught with a camera and that stifles my ability to accurately and effectively share my experiences with others, which is my true passion. Having the opportunity to learn from a real pro would be incredibly life-changing for me.
