My Scholarship entry - Food and Survival in the Jungle
Costa Rica | Wednesday, November 5, 2014 | 5 photos
Since childhood I have had an insatiable curiosity about the natural world. Reading books on wildlife and watching nature documentaries soon inspired me to travel and capture on camera the diversity of life on earth. I have a particular fondness of tropical rainforests which was born during an expedition to the Amazon. The wildlife encounters I made during this time were to impact on me for the rest of my life. They have left me with an unstoppable passion for wildlife photography. Wildlife photography is about learning from and interacting with nature, but also people. Nature is anywhere and everywhere and connected to humans, to us all. My aim is to depict the wonders of nature through photography and raise awareness about why nature is fascinating and worth protecting. Being given the opportunity to go on this assignment would mean the world to me and would be the perfect opportunity to improve my photography and story-telling capacities about nature, wildlife and people. I thrive in remote and inhospitable places such as the jungle. I am reliable, enthusiastic and eager to learn. I am fluent in Spanish and I have an unending love and energy for nature, travel and photography.
