I, Mateus B., despite being architect, what I really want is being traveler.
It's when I'm traveling, that I'm feel fully realized!
For me, traveling is not so much the idea of ??visiting a particular place or go looking for the museum. Is to go looking for people! The essence of travel is meeting. Drawing a geography of friendships with every match.
In 2011 I started a big trip from the most north point of Europe, to the most south of Africa - by any means - looking each face that could give me a smile, finding the most friendly people I ever met in Sudan or the hospitality of a humble family in Jordan, that said goodbye to me in tears.
But because I believe that our references are important, return is always a good feeling. And because the more I travel, more I love my country, after that big trip, I started another one: walking 11 weeks through out Portugal, to meet and find 'my owns'.
Travel is an addiction! I have desire and need to meet people and new places. The happiness, I find it in every mile. In every new friendship. In every train compartment. In the tent above the river or the mountains. In every path. In every departure, in every return... that's why I leave...
