Lima – We
only allocated one day to Lima and to be honest, that was plenty. We could’ve
spent another day checking out the more upmarket shopping area of Miraflores
but it didn’t interest us. We spent our day wondering around the old town and
checking ... Read more >

myself doing some reflection about myself and my outlook on life.
On December
1 st last year, my aunty Donna passed away. Just over 3 weeks later,

It’s amazing how quickly you adapt to the habitat you’re in. We flew from Leticia in the Amazon Jungle to Quito, Ecuador (via Bogota) and it felt weird being in a city again.
Ecuador is the 4th country we’re visiting out of 9 on this trip. It feels ... Read more >

We said our
goodbyes to the boys in Bogota and flew to Leticia which is a small concrete
town built miles from any other civilisation in the Amazon jungle. Leticia
borders Brazil and Peru and the great Rio Amazonas (Amazon River) flows between
them.... Read more >

Santa Marta left a lot to be desired. The beaches waters
were murky and the sand was covered in rubbish…. It certainly didn’t look like
a Caribbean Beach yet it is. The streets were covered in rubbish, mud and large
puddles, I couldn’t go anywhere ... Read more >

After asking around a few different hostels on a street in Cartagena (and viewing the rooms this time) we settled for the cheapest we could find for a private room. Air conditioning cost double so we had to settle with a mere fan. At least here we ... Read more >
