My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Brazil | Tuesday, July 2, 2013 | 5 photos

Most part of my free time I spend surfing on the web to see the work of many kinds of photographers. I prefer those who develop personal works such as people, nude, landscapes, abstract as its subject. I read their bios to know more about their careers and it’s funny to notice certain similarities between theirs paths. Some earned their first cameras from their parents, others started their work with friends and some were born amidst an artistic environment. It is also incredible to realize that their names´s connotation sounds as truly artists.
I was born in Brazil in a traditional family. I am the first, of many generations, who is trying to go in a different path and live in a completely different world trying to avoid the fake glamour that exists in this world, which only favours those who are already inside. My name is Jorge Maluf, and has none artistical connotation. On the contrary, it’s a surname of a famous corrupt politician. Perhaps I can’t pass through the rules of the photography world and be truly noted. But, the Rolling Stones music says: “You can't always get what you want, But if you try sometimes well you might find, You get what you need.”
