My Photo scholarship 2011 entry
The camel fair in Pushkar is an amazing cultural and historic event. Every year it attracts around 100,000 tourists to the small holy town and around 15,000 camels are traded. The town comes to life and embraces the traders and tourists alike. The festival also includes competitions such as the 'international bride of the year', the 'best moustache' and the 'turban tying competition'.
I first heard of this festival three years ago when I was in India for the first time. I have now been on the road for three years and I am finally back to see the spectical first hand.
My aim in my photography is to open the minds of the people who view my photos, and encourage them to go out in the world for the hands on experience.
