A local on their shopping run down Abisko high street. Abisko, or Ábeskovuu in the Sami language, is a village of less than 100 permanent inhabitants on the borders of Swedish Lapland - Europe's last great wilderness. In winter it remains still and quiet, enveloped by snow. Locals keep warm in home or sauna and are rarely seen.
