My Scholarship entry - A True Paradise Island
I am a Freshman at Denison University. I have always had a huge passion for photography. I bought my first camera (Canon EOS Rebel XT) when I was 11 and I took it everywhere. Looking back at those pictures, I really was not good. I didn't start gaining skills until my sophomore year of hush school when I took a photography class. I learned the entire darkroom process even though no one uses it anymore. After that, I became obsessed with improving. I am the youngest photographer on staff for my school newspaper as well as Denison Universities official publication, The Den. I am also in an upper level photo class. I would consider myself a landscape and wildlife photographer. On vacations, I stay up all night photographing stars and get up early for the sunrise. I should be chosen for the scholarship because I could learn a lot from National Geographic. My goal is to shoot for National Geographic and this would be a good way to get my foot in the door. I am a very hard worker and extremely dedicated to photography. If I am chosen for the scholarship, I will take away a lot of technical skill.
