More than 10,000 Pagodas and temples esisted in this area in the 11th Century - the remains of over 2000 of which are still there today. Views[296] A Buddhist monk in Yangon stares up at Shwedagon Pagoda as he makes his way at sunset to the top. The Pagoda is treasured by Burmese Buddhists as it is said to contain relics of all four enlightened Buddhas. Views[242]
