My Scholarship entry - Diwali - The Festival of Lights
Currently I work as a documentary producer for the World Bank, creating training films for Road Safety Engineers in India.
The chance to travel with my work has afforded me the opportunity to be in some amazing places over the last year and my camera has never been far from my side.
Whilst my photographic skills are still very much in their infancy, my ambition to capture what I see in the world around me is boundless, and therefore I am seeking this opportunity to make the first big leap in connecting my ambition with my skills.
Up until now I have learnt all I know through trial and error. So for me, the opportunity to spend 12 days working alongside a man who has more photographic knowledge in his little finger than I do in my entire body would mean a huge leap for me. And as someone who learns best by being challenged, the challenges (both geographically and photographically) of this adventure will no doubt test and stretch me as a person and as a photographer.
I am also drawn to this location as I have never had the chance to shoot in a jungle. So far my experiences have all been urban. Once again the challenge is set, and I am more than ready to accept it.
