My Scholarship entry - Wildlife & Street Photography
Thailand | Friday, November 14, 2014 | 5 photos
There are many things I'm passionate about: languages, experiencing new cultures, marine conservation---the list is endless, but they all fall under the umbrella of travel and photography. I especially love street and wildlife photography, two types of photography that may seem very different but I believe are actually quite similar---the subject of the photography is caught in an unguarded moment, which I often find raises more questions then it answers. I love street photography, especially in a foreign country, because it speaks to the authenticity of the culture. It's a small window into the city, it's inhabitants and their lives. The same could be said for wildlife photography, but with addition that it can be used for conservational reasons. Eventually, I would love to use my photography skills to expose the world to various cultures (especially those that are an the brink of extinction) and to highlight the dangers of not taking better care of our marine ecosystems.
