My Scholarship entry - Tribes of The Omo Valley
Im a free lance photographer fascinated with the semi nomadic people of the world and I will go anywhere to be able to document the way they live, how they are changing and the rituals they perform. I have travelled to the Amazon once before but I was working for a charity and I didn't get to do the work I love and document all that I can to make sure there way of life now is never forgotten.
I am working on a book on tribes and the way they live today with photographs and information to go with the photographs. I have just got back from Ethiopia where I was documenting the tribes in the Omo Valley. . I managed to raise the money but it was not easy and I really need help to support my project so it may continue.
I wish to work in the Amazon, in North New Guinea and Siberia. All these places hold the most fascinating cultures that wont always be around or at least the ways they live wont be. The people that are still referred to today as savages are the bravest, strongest and most loyal i have been around and I want to stop the misconceptions
