My Scholarship entry - Tatra Tales

So its like this. I saw your add on facebook and almost instantly decided that I should sign-up for this unbelievable opportunity. This would be a game changer for me.

I'm a photography student in my final year of university. My main area of focus is landscape - relating to environmentalism and travel. I am an ardent oudoorsman, so I spend lots of time walking, cycling and climbing. My passion for the outdoors has become a key part of my practice. I open to new outdoor pursuits. At 18 I did a series of endurance walks through the dark peak in the Peak District as part of a team. This was a a formative part of the development of my skill set in navigating the outdoors; I learnt about planning, rationing and map reading.

Once my interest for photography had blossomed, I conflated the two spheres of my life -connecting my perambulations, hikes and cycling with photography. This allowed me to convey my perspective on environmentalism -to evoke a deeper consideration of the landscape in the hearts and minds of the observer.

This scholarship will be provide an ideal experience for me to simultaneously hone all aspects of my practice and undoubtedly pave the way for my future.
