My Scholarship entry - Discovery

My name is Brook Sheridan and I am a Landscape gardener from the City of Brisbane, Australia. I write to you today to explain a little about how my passion for this field came about and why I would like to be chosen for this amazing opportunity.
In 2013 I was successful in obtaining a temporary position within a company who took job contracts all over this wonderful country. This enabled me to witness a lot of what Australia has to offer the world in regards to natural beauty. I started to take photos.
In the last 18 months I have really started to appreciate the art of capturing time in a lens, my main focus being nature. Getting some great shots of places I'd been for work and coming home to show family and friends was honestly a great feeling. Seeing that they could admire my photos the way I had admired the real thing, sparked something inside of me, it fuelled my hunger for knowledge and experience.
Being enthusiastic about this newly found appreciation and would love the opportunity to be mentored by someone in a position where I aspire to be.
