My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
India | Thursday, July 4, 2013 | flickr photos
My name is Michael Loffler and I come from the small city of Regina, Saskatchewan. After capturing almost 12 countries in the past 6 months, the technicalities of my photography hasn't necessarily improved, but my understanding of the world through a lens slightly has. An eye for life has been my greatest tool, as it is the only tool I can hone, since the camera I use only involves both the point and shoot function. However, I feel because I am so limited, I have a much more difficult job in making a photograph look good, which has trained my eye, not my lens, to focus on what is important.
With this contest, the opportunity to continue my undeniable desire to travel and capture the hearts of others on camera, is something so far removed from a dream at this point. I want to see this planet as clear as glass from a camera lens and I know with the unprecedented lessons from a National Geographic photographer, I can achieve all that and more.
