My Scholarship entry - Wandering Curiosities.

Traveling with a camera can be such a hassle especially when your worried what bag you've placed it in or whether you've scratched the sense cover. My parents always carried the camera; constantly taking photos of my sister and I since we were little. Our camera's documented with way too many images of my sister and I trapping through Costa Rica or swimming off the coast of California but it wasn't until my grandparents took me on a trip to Europe for my thirteenth birthday -releasing me, camera in hand. Out into a world that I found myself seeing completely different than them. They tell this story of me looking at the ground, wandering aimlessly through a Danish Sculpture garden confused as to what I was actually looking at. Ever since then my DSLR has been in my purse from High School to College. During my year abroad, pictures were the perfect way of capturing what I was doing, who I was meeting, and what I was seeing. This opportunity would be incredible! I know I would love a chance to strengthen my eyes through the guidance of another-who has seen so much more than I have. For me that has what photography has always been about; a way to step into someone else's world.
