Two Smokejumpers, en-route to a fire, sit patiently and watch the world go by through the opening they will soon depart through.
The use of fixed-wing aircraft and parachutes allows for crews to be placed on fires in remote locations far more quickly than other methods; allowing for fires to be extinguished quickly and before they grow too rapidly.
