My Scholarship entry - A chunk of my portfolio

I have always had a great interest in photography since my first camera was given to me as a gift. I have put in countless hours to try and make myself as technically skilled as possible, in hopes of becoming a photojournalist and eventually(after an extensive enough portfolio) a studio photographer. I've always found myself more inclined to wildlife and specifically macro photography; as human subjects have seemed to elide me at a higher rate than mammals and insects can. I'm currently taking an AP 2-D studio design course for college board and am submitting an almost completely photographic portfolio(still undecided if any of my art through other medias will make it). My absolute dream job would be to work for National Geographic. My greatest admiration would have to be Ansel Adams, as he is(in my humble opinion) the best landscape and one of the best abstract nature photographers of all time. He was also commissioned to wander around in the woods alone for weeks on end looking for the beauty in American wildlife, and if there is a more perfect job in the world; I don't know it. Choosing me would help me with the best possible field experience for my career of choice.
