My Scholarship entry - Reflections of Scotland

United Kingdom | Monday, November 24, 2014 | 5 photos

Anita Payne, 56 yr. old grandma, born, lived most of my life in country Victoria, I now in an outer suburb of Melbourne and I escape to the country often. I have 7 grandchildren (5-14yrs), all who are developing an interest in photography. We have a fun saying ‘doing a grandma’ – meaning see something and either stop and backup the road or do a you turn and go back to photograph whatever it is that has been seen. Naturally they have got this from me, I regularly do exactly that. I love being in the outdoors and observing our diverse countryside. Landscapes and birds are my current love. I’m still a very much an amateur photographer having had a camera since I was in high school. I’ve not got a fantastically fancy camera just recently upgraded to a Nikon P600. For me to win this Travel Photography Scholarship would be a dream come true, to learn from the knowledgeable and experiences of others and to be able to share this knowledge and skill with the younger generation. To help the younger generation to get out and about in nature and see what this amazing world has to offer. To experience nature in the raw, and capture it in photos to again share with others is all I’d ask for.
