Erg Chebbi is the principal erg (sand desert) of Morocco. Its dunes, that can reach the height of 150m and hosted once the indipendent medieval emirate of Sijilmāsa, became recently a popular touristic destination and are actually threatened by the massive use of off-road vehicles, quads and motorbike on their surface.
