Words are ambiguous and deceiving. Through words, spoken or written, they concurringly distort and embellish intentions that obscure their primitive meaning. It was until then when i come across photography, through the eye of lenses, the images i saw triggered a chain of thoughts. I still recall "Life before death" images taken by Walter Schels. The somber series of portraits taken of people before and after their death was astonishing. It literally caught me in deep thought. The vividness could not be worded but felt. It's amazing how people is connected and speak through the images. Photography is a vehicle of communication that could truly delivered the message in its primitive context. Since then i was intoxicated with photography. I wanted to document the images that lies unseen through the "neglecter's eye". Through the images, i wanted to tell a story which layman could comprehend. At this point in my life, a career in photography is farfetched. As a student, i was trained to be a scientist as it's a career that society adored. By chance, i come across this golden opportunity. Perhaps an exceptional photography trip to Greenland might just have been the sign i waiting for.
