My Scholarship entry - Life in Vietnam
Through my twenties, I explored every creative outlet I could; writing; music; filmmaking; design; radio plays. All were sincere passions, but I felt spread too thinly to see where my true calling lay.
Now, on my 30th birthday, I find myself introspective and strangely at peace. Looking back over the last decade, I can see precisely where I was happiest: crouched in a creek bed, camera in hand, waiting in a near-meditative state of calm for a dragonfly to spread its wings; seeing two friends laughing - a transient, fleeting, perfect moment - and granting that instant its own strange immortality.
Right now, I see the future through a zoom lens and squinted eyes. An opportunity to validate this calling would mean the world to me.
