My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My earliest memories of photography are of my mother racing around family events camera in hand incessantly capturing images. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I picked up a camera of my own and learned why she could not put hers down.
Photography revealed to me the world in ways more beautiful than I could have previously imagined. I love photography for the perspective it has given me, it instills a relentless curiosity in me that leads to places and experiences that I would not otherwise find myself in, the result of which is tangible, that can be shared with others.
To me photography is it’s own motivation, every photograph I take I see an opportunity, something that can be improved upon. The day I stop taking photographs will be the day there is nothing more to learn, luckily for me I don’t think I’ll ever see that day.
There is nothing that I feel more passionately about and my goal is to one day work professionally as a photographer. To do this I want to learn as much as I can about working as a photographer and to a professional standard. I want to find myself in an unfamiliar situation facing new challenges and discover where my camera will take me next.
