My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

We are running out of time. That has been my daily motivation to further research, explore, and document different cultures, faces, and places. There are lots of species that will soon become extinct, places that are destroyed, traditions that are slowly being forgotten, and great people dying with rich stories without being properly documented and shared with the rest of the world. And that, is my mission, and photography is my chosen medium. This world is so big and is facing many environmental issues and I believe the need to inspire more people to travel and explore less visited places and share their great experience and stories effectively. This scholarship will help me to become an effective storyteller so I can hopefully inspire and invite people to discover and protect the environment especially in my country, the Philippines. Aside from content, I am also eager to lean more about form and photography techniques to clearly define and accompany my stories. But most importantly, I want to learn and experience the real process---heavy research, planning, getting contacts and access, attitude, writing, sharing, and more.
