My Scholarship entry - Porters and muleteers of Aconcagua
Argentina | Monday, November 24, 2014 | 5 photos
I try not to assume much of anything, much more so with how I try to capture images of the world around me. I don’t want to assume that the next shot that I take will come out gorgeously; I am often times my own worst critic. Such self-deprecation, I guess, is borne from a vehement want to reveal the story that unravels before my lens…to do justice, so to speak, to the encounter. I want people, when they look at my photographs, to go through the same suite of emotions that I myself experience the moment I click that shutter button. I want them to wonder, to question, and to think more than to just gush and admire. I try to avoid regarding myself as a photographer. Rather, I would like to see myself more as a storyteller, one who only happens to be holding a camera.
