Canoe Trip

Paddle, walk, climb, descend, meet, talk, observe, feel, canoe trip challenges and transforms each of its members. Every person, every conversation, every child, every look has some message, some knowledge to pass. The exchange of culture is impressive, personal growth within this trip is inexplicable. We realize that every journey leads to the same place: ourselves. Traveling is not only leaving home, says Michel Serres, is primarily to find the other because it is from him that we learn.

Were approximately 150 km traveled rowing and sailing in canoes carved from a single wood trunk. The expedition had 15 stops, among these, eight communities. Traveled inlets, bays and rivers shaped maze, isolated places impossible to be visited without the presence of a native.
Woke up, anxious and apprehensive, at 5 pm on July 1 with a rain and a rousing uplifting cold. We went towards the beach and getting there we encounter six canoes, we were surprised that we had to build our candles using sheets, ropes and bamboos. Cell phones off, no clocks or expectations, one stroke sufficed for the journey begin.

In a few moments we decided to paddle at night, prepare torches for better visualization of the group. Paddling at night requires closer interaction and canoes. All paddlers should be aware, it is easy to get lost in the immensity of the waters. At the same time, the experience is completely different at night the sea is calm and we can view the plânctos shining every stroke. The moon was nearly full, shining like a sun.
On one such night we stopped at a rowing sambaqui a civilization which lived about a thousand years ago. The site has a strong energy, also found shells and human bones.
