    Suffering of Insects- Draining Long Point of the Macquarie River causes a catastrophic imbalance of the ecosystem. by: melissajstocks Views[241] Impending Drought- The Macquarie River is a vital source of water for not only natural wildlife, but also tens of thousands of cattle and sheep. These Herds are the livelihood of generations of farming families round the area. by: melissajstocks Views[234] Australian Eastern Water Dragon- The Macquarie River is teaming with these beautiful Water Lizard’s. Their natural habitat is around the margins of creeks and rivers and feed on a variety of insects and aquatic life.
