Hi Rebekah,
The language guides are 'podcasts' - which means you can download them yourself or subscribe to this Podcast using iTunes. To download the Spanish one for example, go back to this Journal's Homepage, then click on the article about the Spanish one and you'll see an orange button at the top of the page saying'podcast'. Click this to begin the download. Simple as that!

Thanks for all the requests guys. We have another 10 planned for early next year and happy to take any more on board. We'll probably do an Australian language guide as we think our English is fairly ordinary and it would make good fun. Feel free to tell your mates, the more I'm hassled, the easier it is to convince the bean counters...oh..that's me, I'll shut up now and go back to the studio.

Nice try - but can you at least name the languages right?

There is no "Indian" language - the national language is Hindi - which is what you mean I think.

And then there are over 50 distinct languages in India with hundreds of dialects each.

Thanks.

Surya Jan 21, 2007 10:55 PM

Hey Surya,
of course, you're right about Hindi. Thanks for leaving the comment as we've now updated the post.
Cheers

I would like to see you add a language guide for Egyptian Arabic. Of all the places I've been, Egypt is my favorite, and I am now planning to go back. Since the Middle East is so important and interesting these days, I think it would be an appropriate addition to your language list.

I think its great these languages guides!
One observation though, I am portuguese and I heard the portuguese guide. Its weird because you have a brazilian woman trying to speak with Portugal accent which is usualy very hard for brazilians to do. Sometimes you have the situation where the australian guy says the words better than the supposed portuguese woman.
So my sugestion is either you do it with the normal brazilian accent warning that is portuguese brazilian (and about brasilian situations) or you try to find a portuguese accent speaking person.

Keep up the good work,
Mariana
