Hi, All,
I´ve decied to switch to a public blog to keep in touch versus so many emails. This way, my posts are available to you all the time without cluttering your inbox. I´ll most likely shoot out a short email letting you know that I´ve recently updated my blog but feel free to come check it out when you have a free moment, as I might not always email you every time.
Feel free to leave comments on here. Although, nothing too personal, as it´s still a public forum :0) If you would like to share more personal information, don´t hesitate to shoot me an email or give me a call!
My life as of late has been chalk full of activities - but then again, who´s isn´t, right?? I´m slowly getting into job searching. I´ve been beefing up my resume for a career fair that´s this week. At the present, I´m definitely leaning towards staying in Madison for at least a few more years after graduation and (hopefully) continue working for my current employer while I look into getting certified for medical translation. At that point, I´ll most likely work at the university hospital either On Call or part time to get my feet wet and then possibly switch to working there full time if I like it enough. Nonetheless, I´m still keeping all options open. I´ve noticed lots of openings in my field on the west coast and southern regions of the US. We´ll see! It´s still quite early to pin anything as official.
I´m also looking to study abroad in China for 3 months this summer via a US government program. While I´m going to give it my best shot, the program is highly competitive so who knows how that will turn out for me! I won´t apply till October and I will find out around my birthday in March. Let´s cross our fingers and hope the US government gives me a nice birthday gift this year :0)
I recently met my GGAPP partner - Global Graduates And Partners Program. Elli is from Finland and an absolute blast to spend time with. She´s quite fluent in English, almost native level. I recently discovered she speaks Spanish, German, Swedish, and.. French (?) in addition to her native Finnish. It´s pretty awesome!!
Other activities that I´ve done is Taste of Madison - sampled LOTS of Madison area restaurants in booths all around the capitol, visited the local zoo (I´ll admit, partially for extra credit for my animal science course), watched the Badgers beat Fresno State in a double OT football game this weekend (SUPER exciting!!), and make homemade spicy pork (korean recipe) with my good friend from Korea. Mmmmm, incredibly delicious!!
All in all a great start to the semester!
I look forward to hearing how you all have been doing.
Take care! Besos,
Jessica
