This documentary experience about the Medellin River has been very difficult for me. Initially you think these are just stories from the locals. But hearing them personally has had a greater impact knowing that this is still happening here. I was inspired on this topic, because I have always been very curious about the people living around the river in very difficult situations.
It is very scary to travel there, not just because of the insecurity, but of the horrible hygienic situation that exists there. But I had to do it. It was a mission to me having realized it for many years now.
This challenge allowed me to see and feel the difficulties involved in taking part in this type of documentary.
This has been a great opportunity for me as a future documentary maker, for it is my passion to communicate real life stories, and in the end hopefully making a difference .
Doing this for NatGeo is very important to me, because it represents my appreciation of not only this forum, but also the environment.
Thank you.
