My Scholarship entry - The Non-traditional/Traditional Healer

For me, photography is all about life balance and story telling. It has fostered in me a new love of life and become a way to reconnect and see an all too familiar world in an entirely new way; allowing me to rediscover the fascination I once had with it. I love the inspiration it sparks in me; the passion to explore and tell a story. To capture moments during my travels both locally and internationally. To push my limits and explore the “uncomfortable” parts of life. To stop moments in time and capture the story in one frame. To encompass an entire experience within that one frame so that one glance has me re-living it one more time...the unique pleasure of the scent, taste, emotion and connection to that moment. To tell my story frame by frame and keep every moment in life fresh, special and relevant. And most importantly to share that unique experience with others and spark in them a curiosity about the world. This scholarship is a beyond valuable experience that would not only allow me to learn how to better hone my skills as a photographer and storyteller, it would also afford me a priceless opportunity to further my career as a travel photographer.
