My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I’ve always felt like an underdog. Like, I had nothing to give and no one to impress. I never received an award or honors, so what could I do? I didn’t realize it at the time but the only place I felt genuinely good was in my yearbook class. My teacher saw potential in me but I just thought it was fun to take pictures. One day, I went to a photojournalism workshop and during a sports session is when I realized how much I loved photography. I placed in a contest and it was then I believed I wasn’t inferior anymore. Photography wasn’t only a hobby; it is what defines me, the one talent I feel secure in and is the future I see ahead of me. I didn’t want to leave my passion for photography as a high school memory so I choose to continue as it develops into my career. I am still learning but I will get there because I have faith in myself and what I can do. I have a one in a zillion chance of winning but I know I am good enough and that it will be far from easy yet; travel photography is what I want to do. One day my degree will pay off and I will get to shoot at the World Cup, Okinawa, hopefully maybe even Oman and etc. I believe everything and anything is possible if your mind is set.
