I reached LA eventually. The flight got delayed by about an hour which was ok. American Customs is as bad as what people say and it took about 1 1/2 hours to get through today!! So far people here are either really friendly (warm) or are just stone cold - there is no between!! The hostel Im staying in is in Santa Monica and is really good and is in an excellent location. Havent done much today as feeling a bit knackered so wont be heading out on Paddy's Day i think!!! Went to the supermarket earlier and ended up spending absolutely ages in there as there is SO MUCH choice I couldnt pick what I wanted and also the food is so cheap which Im not complaining about!! Going to get a good night's sleep tonight ready for tomorrow!!
