My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Sri Lanka | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos
My passion for photography started in 2010, when I attended basic photography class here in Abu Dhabi. From then on, I never stopped taking pictures. Photography enriches my life in many ways. It has given way to new friendship and camaraderie. Most important, it has taught me to look at the world in a different perspective.
Travel photography is about documenting a place, people, culture, etc. But for me, it’s my way of communicating my feelings about the people and the place they live in. It’s not just about taking pictures of what you see from where you are at that moment, but how you connect yourself with the people and blend yourself with the present environment.
If chosen, it would be a great opportunity to be mentored by Jason Edwards and work with the National Geographic team. To be in this journey is one in a lifetime experience and I’m very much willing to be part of it and learn anything and everything. After the journey, I hope to inspire people, touched their lives and make them see the world differently through photography.
My name is Mary Ann L. Macatigbac, 36 years old, currently working as a Personal Assistant in Abu Dhabi, and I’m a proud Filipino.
