I don't know where I am. By that I mean that I really can't say the name of the city, but if someone wants, they can copy it and find out for themselves. It's a pretty small place, and my guide doesn't have a map. I got off and this guy came up to me and asked me if I needed help, which was nice. I asked where the car station (or something like that) is - and he pointed me down this hill. There was a car station there. It was abandoned and I started to get a little nervous as to what exactly I had gotten into. But then I found the REAL one - which was up the hill, not down it. And there actually is a place called Yeghegnadzor - I thought it was nothing. The drive was gorgeous - it was through nothing but valleys and gorges for kilometers and kilometers - stunning!!!
Other than that, I had a few problems today. Armenian transport (with the exception of taxis - again, several offers today - just walking along the streets of Yeghegnadzor, very professional and very attentive) is necessarily the easiest to use. I figured that I would go to this monastery where this saint was imprisoned for 13 years in a pit, climb down the pit, and then continue on my way. Well well well, that was not to be. Even though it's in the direction, I had to head back to Yerevan in order to continue. No big deal, I found my way eventually, but it was a bit challenging - and I've got a place to stay tonight, which is another big plus!!!
Again, the people that I've met have just been so nice and friendly, I love it. I'm looking forward to doing a little bit more exploring around outside of Yerevan, and I have a week or so to do that before I head off to Georgia. Well, according to my plans - but there is no guarantee they will go off as planned!!
Oh, and I'm trynig to upload pictures, but the computers her in Yeghegnadzor really aren't good enough. It's a bit of a challenge - but I know I will do it eventually!!! Hurray!!
Hope you're all well!!!
