I travel quite a bit (over 20 countries in the last three years!) and an opportunity like this could help me turn my travel experiences into much more than a recreational experience. I have been blessed to go to some amazing places and have been satisfied with many of my photos - but I know they could be much better with more training. Even though I have traveled and photographed extensively I chose to highlight a small portion of an annual festival in a small Alaskan town that I call home. It is a wonderful event celebrating the town's Norwegian roots but has a strange component.
