The assault on the senses that one only feels from being immersed completely in a different culture. The world is such an amazing and beautiful place that to not travel would be the biggest waste of an opportunity. "Once a year go someplace you've never been before" - Dalai Lama. Photography is a means of transporting this feeling as best as possible to a person who may have never been or even heard of a certain place. The reason I love photography so much is because it gives you the opportunity to capture that "Once in a Lifetime" moment. It gives you the ability freeze time forever in that small frame and create memories for some people who never had these memories in the first place. I should be chosen for this scholarship as I have a primal passion for both photography and travel. There is nothing I would not do and nowhere I would not go. The stranger the better. I have the drive, determination and focus to soak up as much as physically and mentally possible from Jason.
