“But no one will know you took those pictures” my mother says every time I show her pictures from my trips. “Mom, the most important thing is to have the pictures tell the story”
I love travelling; exploring, meeting new people, learning from different cultures. Sharing my experience is equally enjoyable.
One of my most exciting journeys was a 6 days trekking & camping trip to the highest mountain in Ethiopia, Ras Dashen. Although I am thrilled with the experience & pictures I captured, I strongly believe that I could have taken better pictures.
I am planning to visit one of the deepest, most fascinating points on earth, Danakil Depression. In my soon-to-do-list is climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro & Mt. Kenya. My ultimate adventure in Africa would be driving from Cairo to Cape Town crossing up to 15 borders, attending lively ceremonies, witnessing diversified cultures & enjoying wide-ranging landscapes. I want to do a better job on photographing my journey and telling my story in a travel book I would publish later.
Ultimately, I want everyone to know that I have been there because the pictures say so; not because I am in the pictures.
