My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Japan: My first trip out of Europe!
It was an experience that I will never forget. It was a 5 days trip: Nara, Kyoto and Tokyo. What impressed me the most was the perfect match of old and new. I found amazing their respect to tradition/heritage when at the same time they have succeed to create a new/modern culture, based on high technology and current trends. My photos try to capture this magic mix in Japanese culture.
The scholarship that you offer, will give me the opportunity to explore a different culture, to live an adventure and to grow my photographic skills. Although my first degree is in Photography and I have worked for 3-4 years as a photojournalist, I currently don’t work as a professional photographer. Travel photography is a field that I love, because you communicate with a new culture, you capture life and you have the chance to reconsider yourself.
